Two mechanics papers published in Mar. 2024
We are happy to share that two mechanics papers, one with Extreme Mechanics Letters led by SRG student Chenxu Zhao, and the other with International Journal of Solids and Structures led by SRG former postdoc Guangchao Wan , have been published. These are about hollow pillar adhesion and shell adhesion. We look forward to follow-up […]
SRG members attend Gordon Research Conference — Science of Adhesion
All SRG members except the undergrads attended GRC Science of Adhesion at Mount Holyoke in late July. Wanliang served as discussion leader for one evening session on switchable adhesion. Big thanks to Kevin for the invitation! Guangchao, Chenxu, Yanbing, and Farshad each presented a poster about their research. GRC Adhesion stays as our favorite conference!
Wanliang Visits Younger Optics in Los Angeles
Wanliang just finished a trip to the great Los Angeles area to visit Younger Optics, which is hosting Chenxu for an NSF-funded internship. Former SRG members Amir and Valerie have been working in the area for a couple of years. All enjoyed the reunion at Huntington Beach very much after four years not seeing each […]

Wanliang wins NSF Career Award from MoMS!
It is homecoming in essence. Wanliang has been trained to be a solid mechanician at Princeton. It is only fitting and extremely fulfilling for Wanliang to receive the NSF Career Award from the “notoriously” competitive Mechanics of Materials and Structures (MoMS) program! Many thanks to the support from mentors and colleagues over the years!
